The 13 Bridges Challenge, organised by SSAFA (the Armed Forces charity) is taking place on Saturday 24 June (this Saturday) and participants will be walking across 13 bridges in London (and between them), staring from Tower Hill, near Tower Bridge, and completing the walk at Eel Brook Common in west London, having crossed Battersea Bridge. Chelsea Bridge gets crossed twice, so that challengers end up on the correct side of the river! It’s a 10 mile walk in total, with start times between 8am and 1pm.
The official challenge map is shown here, along with a signup QR code. It’s good to see a clean, crisp, mainly vector map, showing both the bridges and footsteps illustrating the path to be taken. A couple of quibbles – the width of the Thames doesn’t vary and the start (Tower Hill) is in the wrong place, but apart from that it’s a good summary of the route.
Good luck to everyone taking part in the challenge, especially in what is already proving to be a hot summer for London.
